The Sekonic Marine Meter II L-164B is a purpose-built underwater exposure meter from the era when serious underwater photography meant bringing a Nikonos, a roll of slide film, and absolutely no ability to check your exposure afterward. Designed for use both above and below the surface, the Marine Meter II gives divers and underwater photographers a dedicated handheld solution for determining exposure when working with cameras that lack built-in metering.

The L-164B is particularly interesting today as both a functional photographic tool and a piece of vintage underwater camera gear. It pairs naturally with classic Nikonos systems and other manual underwater cameras, while the chunky sealed housing and straightforward controls give it that wonderfully purpose-built dive equipment aesthetic.
