The Rodenstock Rodagon 300mm f/5.6 is one of the finest enlarging lenses ever made for large-format work, offering superb optical performance across the entire 8x10 frame. With its long focal length and flat-field design, it’s perfect for enlarging large negatives with minimal distortion, razor-sharp edges, and beautiful tonal transitions. This version comes pre-mounted to a 145mm flange, ready to install on many professional enlargers like the Durst Laborator 184 or De Vere 810.

While designed for darkroom use, this lens is also an excellent choice for experimental large format photography. Many tintype and paper negative shooters have successfully adapted Rodagon lenses to 8x10 view cameras for contact printing or creative portraiture. Since the lens does not have an internal shutter, you’ll need to use it with a lens cap or external shutter system—but optically, it’s a stellar match for alternative process work.
