The ProMaster Scout Series SC426 Tripod Kit is a versatile, lightweight aluminum tripod built for photographers who want something more capable than a basic starter tripod without hauling around a massive set of sticks. With a maximum height of 67 inches, independently adjustable four-section legs, ground-level capability, and an included Arca-type ball head, it's a solid everyday tripod for everything from portraits and landscapes to long exposures and macro work.

Flexible Leg Positioning

Each of the SC426's four-section legs can be independently positioned at different angles, making it much easier to level your camera on rocks, stairs, trails, and other uneven surfaces. The flip-style leg locks are easy to operate, even while wearing gloves.

The center column also includes a retractable weight hook, so you can hang a camera bag or other weight underneath the tripod when you want some additional stability.

Get Down Low

The two-piece center column can be shortened to bring your camera down close to ground level, with a minimum working height of approximately 5 3/8 inches when the legs are spread flat.

The center column is also reversible, giving you additional flexibility for macro photography, product photography, copy work, and unusual low-angle compositions.

SCH30 Ball Head Included

The kit includes ProMaster's SCH30 ball head, which uses a simple single-knob design to control camera positioning and panning. Etched degree markings around the base make repeatable rotational adjustments easier when shooting panoramas.

The included ProMaster #2738 quick-release plate uses an Arca-type dovetail system, making the head compatible with a wide range of Arca-style plates, L-brackets, and accessories. A built-in safety catch helps prevent the camera from accidentally sliding completely out of the head when the clamp is loosened.
