The Promaster AF 12-24mm XR EDO f/4 is an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens designed for Nikon F-mount DX-format DSLRs, offering an expansive field of view perfect for landscapes, interiors, real estate, and dramatic perspective shots. It’s based on the same optical design as the Tamron 12-24mm f/4, rebadged under the Promaster brand, and features Extra Refractive Index (XR) and Enhanced Digital Optics (EDO) elements to help reduce distortion and maintain edge-to-edge sharpness.

With a constant f/4 aperture, it’s a versatile performer in daylight or tripod-mounted low-light work. Autofocus is driven by a screw-drive system, so compatibility with Nikon bodies that have an in-body AF motor (like the D7000, D300, D90, etc.) is required for full autofocus functionality.

This lens is best suited for experimental work, use in flat lighting, or as a donor for parts or conversion projects. Still usable, but the fog will impact critical image quality in some situations.
