The Pentax K1000 + Pentax-A 50mm f/2 is about as classic as 35mm photography gets. Simple, mechanical, and wonderfully straightforward, the K1000 earned its reputation in classrooms, newspapers, and camera bags everywhere because it gives you exactly what you need to make photographs without much getting between you and the image.

Paired with the compact SMC Pentax-A 50mm f/2, this is an excellent everyday setup for learning film photography or getting back to basics. The 50mm focal length is a natural fit for portraits, street photography, travel, and general walkaround shooting, while the enormous Pentax K-mount lens ecosystem leaves plenty of room to expand later.

This particular K1000 has also received some meaningful attention where it counts. The light seals are new, the shutter speeds have been adjusted, and the meter is reading accurately, so this is a properly sorted user camera rather than an unknown-condition K1000 pulled out of somebody's closet.

The included Pentax-A 50mm f/2 is in excellent working condition with only a small amount of internal dust. This is insignificant in normal shooting and should not have a noticeable effect on image quality.

Cosmetically, the kit shows only minor signs of normal use and presents very nicely overall.
