Olympus 35 RC 35mm Rangefinder Film Camera

The Olympus 35 RC is one of those compact rangefinders that makes a strong case for carrying less camera. Small enough to disappear into a bag but still equipped with proper manual controls and an excellent fixed 42mm f/2.8 E. Zuiko lens, the 35 RC is a fantastic little street, travel, and everyday film camera.

The 42mm focal length sits in a particularly nice spot between a traditional 35mm and 50mm, giving you a natural perspective that works for everything from environmental portraits to wandering around town with a roll of Tri-X. The camera offers shutter-priority automatic exposure as well as manual exposure control, and because the shutter itself is mechanical, the camera can still be used manually when the meter isn't available.

This particular example is a great candidate for someone who is comfortable metering externally. The camera and lens are unusually clean, with the dead meter being the main thing keeping it from an Excellent rating.

Condition: GOOD

Cosmetically, this camera is near Excellent. The body presents beautifully and the lens is in excellent optical condition.

The camera is otherwise functioning properly, but the built-in light meter does not function. The 35 RC can still be used with manual exposure settings and an external or handheld light meter, so the dead meter does not prevent the camera from being used.

Aside from the meter issue, this is a particularly clean example and a great option for someone who wants a compact mechanical rangefinder without paying a premium for a cosmetically rougher camera.
