The Nikon Nikkormat FTN is one of those wonderfully overbuilt mechanical SLRs from Nikon’s golden era. Designed as a more accessible companion to the professional Nikon F system, the FTN retained the rugged construction, Nikon F-mount lens compatibility, and satisfying mechanical controls that made Nikon cameras workhorses for generations of photographers.

The FTN is an especially good option for someone who wants a straightforward mechanical film camera and is comfortable metering externally. With the meter out of commission on this particular body, you can use a handheld meter or phone metering app and otherwise shoot the camera much as you normally would. For Sunny 16 devotees, you can skip the meter entirely and embrace the analog lifestyle.

Condition: ONE-OFF

This Nikkormat FTN shows normal cosmetic wear from age and use. The built-in light meter is inoperable, but the camera otherwise functions properly. The mechanical shutter and film transport are operational, and new light seals have been installed.

Because the meter does not function, this camera is being sold as a One-Off with that limitation clearly noted. It remains a very usable camera when paired with an external light meter.
