Nikon Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 Non Ai Lens

The Nikon Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 Non-Ai is a classic fast normal lens from Nikon’s pre-Ai era, built with the wonderfully solid mechanical construction that made early Nikkors famous. The combination of a bright f/1.4 maximum aperture and traditional manual focus makes it a great piece of vintage Nikon glass for available-light photography, portraits, street shooting, and anyone looking for a little more old-school character than a modern 50mm.

Wide open, the 50mm f/1.4 has the softer, lower-contrast rendering associated with fast vintage glass, while stopping down brings considerably more sharpness and contrast. It’s also a fun lens to adapt to modern mirrorless cameras for stills or video.

As a Non-Ai lens, compatibility is important. It is intended for Nikon bodies that accept pre-Ai lenses, or for adapted use. It should not be mounted on Nikon bodies that require Ai indexing unless that specific camera provides the necessary compatibility.

Condition: GOOD

This lens is in good used condition and remains fully functional. There is a spot of fungus on an internal center element. The lens has been cleaned and the fungus improved, but the affected spot did not completely clean off and remains visible.

This optical defect may contribute to some additional flare or reduced contrast under demanding lighting conditions. Focus and aperture operation are functioning properly.
