Nikon L35AF “Pikaichi” – 35mm Point & Shoot Film Camera – 1000 ISO Variant – EXC Condition
This is the Nikon L35AF, also known affectionately as the “Pikaichi” (Japanese for “top-notch”), and this one is the sharpest, cleanest example we’ve had in the shop to date. Seriously, this is as close to pristine as they come. Nikon’s first-ever autofocus compact camera, the L35AF has developed a serious cult following for good reason—this little point-and-shoot delivers image quality that punches way above its weight class.
Fitted with a legendary 35mm f/2.8 Nikon lens, this is no ordinary compact. The Sonnar-inspired design delivers tack-sharp images with beautiful contrast and gorgeous bokeh when shot wide open. Known for its crisp rendering and low-light capability, it’s the perfect companion for street photography, travel, parties, or everyday carry.
This particular copy is the rarer 1000 ISO variant, giving you expanded film flexibility over the more common 400 ISO models—perfect for pushing film speeds or trying out experimental stocks.

Condition: Excellent
This is the cleanest Nikon L35AF we’ve ever had in the shop. The body is in truly exceptional shape, with minimal cosmetic wear. The lens is clean and clear, autofocus is snappy, exposure meter is responsive, and the film advance and rewind work perfectly. The built-in flash is also fully operational. If you’ve been waiting for a top-tier example of this classic, this is the one.
Why You Want This Camera:
The Nikon L35AF is one of the most sought-after point-and-shoot cameras of the 1980s, and for good reason. It’s fast, sharp, and fun to use. The fast f/2.8 lens makes it fantastic in low light, and the autofocus system—pioneering at its time—still holds up today. Add in the rare 1000 ISO option on this unit, and you’ve got a super versatile film shooter that excels with everything from color negatives to black-and-white push processing.
It’s compact enough to bring anywhere, tough enough to handle real-world use, and delivers image quality that will surprise even seasoned film photographers.
