Nikon HB-1 Lens Hood

The Nikon HB-1 Lens Hood is a lightweight, durable plastic bayonet-style hood designed specifically for several classic AF Nikkor zoom lenses, including the AF 28–85mm f/3.5–4.5, AF 35–70mm f/2.8 (including the 2.8D version), and the AF 35–135mm f/3.5–4.5. This hood was designed to minimize flare and ghosting while preserving contrast—especially important when shooting backlit or high-contrast scenes on film or digital.

Unlike older screw-in metal hoods, the HB-1 uses Nikon’s bayonet mount system for a secure and quick attachment to the lens. It’s also reversible, so you can mount it backwards for compact storage when not in use. If you’re shooting with one of these vintage Nikkor zooms, this hood is the perfect companion to restore full optical performance and keep your lens safe from bumps and glare.
