The Nikon Fisheye-Nikkor 16mm f/2.8 Ai-S is a full-frame diagonal fisheye lens that offers a dramatic 180° field of view, making it a favorite for ultra-wide creative work, architecture, skating, and immersive perspective shots. Introduced in 1983, this compact Ai-S version features close-range correction (CRC) optics for sharp rendering even at minimum focus distances, and a built-in, rotating filter turret with L1A, Y48, O56, and R60 filters—perfect for B&W film shooters.

On digital full-frame Nikon bodies, the 16mm fisheye delivers a distinct, curving fisheye effect with strong edge emphasis. On DX sensors, it gives more of an ultrawide look with less distortion, around a 24mm equivalent field of view.
