The Nikon 20mm f/3.5 Ai-S is a compact ultra-wide prime that has long been a favorite of landscape, street, and architectural photographers. With its 94° angle of view, it delivers sweeping perspectives and the ability to emphasize foreground subjects dramatically while keeping the background expansive. Despite its ultra-wide coverage, distortion is well-controlled for a lens of its era, and it renders with that classic Nikon character—punchy contrast, excellent color, and sharpness across much of the frame when stopped down.

This lens is part of the later Ai-S generation, which benefits from refined coatings and a smooth, dampened focusing action. At only 230g, it’s an easy addition to any Nikon F-mount kit, providing big creative options in a small package.

Condition: Good

This lens is in good condition and fully functional. There is a noticeable bit of missing lens coating on the front element (see sample photos), which may introduce some additional flare or lowered contrast when shooting into strong light sources. Optics otherwise show normal signs of age with light dust. Focus ring turns smoothly, and aperture blades are clean and snappy. Barrel has moderate cosmetic wear consistent with use.
