Miranda DR 1.9 35mm SLR Film Camera + 5cm f/1.9 Lens - Miranda Mount

The Miranda DR + 5cm f/1.9 Miranda lens is a wonderfully old-school 35mm SLR from the era when Miranda was building some genuinely innovative and beautifully mechanical cameras. With its angular styling, interchangeable finder system, and proprietary Miranda lens mount, the DR has considerably more personality than the typical Japanese SLR of the period.

This kit is paired with the Miranda 5cm f/1.9, a fast standard prime that gives you the classic 50mm-ish field of view and plenty of room to play with shallow depth of field. This particular lens also has some optical fog, which pushes its rendering further into vintage territory. Expect a little less contrast and a subtle glow, particularly around highlights and when shooting wide open or into strong light. For someone deliberately chasing that softer vintage-film look, the flaw can actually be creatively interesting.

The DR is an entirely manual shooting experience and does not have a built-in light meter, so you'll want to use a handheld meter, phone app, or your finely calibrated Sunny 16 brain for exposure.

Condition: GOOD

This Miranda DR is in good condition with normal signs of age and use. The shutter has been tested and is firing at all speeds.

The 5cm f/1.9 lens has a minor to moderate amount of internal fog. This will reduce contrast somewhat and can create a slight glow in the resulting photographs, especially around bright highlights. The lens remains functional and usable.

As noted above, the Miranda DR does not have a built-in light meter, so an external method of determining exposure will be required.
