The Minolta X-300 + MD 50mm f/1.7 is a great example of what Minolta did particularly well in the manual-focus era: make cameras that are straightforward, enjoyable to shoot, and paired with genuinely excellent glass. The X-300 keeps things simpler than the flagship X-700 while retaining the features most photographers actually need, including aperture-priority auto exposure, full manual control, and Minolta’s easy-to-read metering system.

Paired with the Minolta MD 50mm f/1.7, this is a classic everyday 35mm setup. The 50mm focal length works beautifully for portraits, street photography, travel, and general shooting, while the f/1.7 maximum aperture gives you plenty of room for available-light photography and shallow depth of field. Minolta’s MD lenses also have that lovely combination of smooth manual focusing and classic rendering that makes them just as fun adapted to modern mirrorless cameras.

This camera is in good working condition with noticeable signs of age and use. The light meter has been tested and reads accurately, and the camera is fully operational.

The small plastic cover on the film advance lever is missing. This is a common age-related issue on cameras from this Minolta family, where the plastic piece can loosen or fall off over time. Its absence is cosmetic and does not affect operation of the advance lever.

The included MD 50mm f/1.7 has mild internal haze. The lens remains fully functional, though the haze may slightly lower contrast or increase glow and flare in strong backlighting.
