The Minolta SRT 201 + MC Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.7 is a classic all-mechanical 35mm setup from the era when Minolta was making some seriously excellent SLRs. The SRT 201 is straightforward, durable, and satisfyingly analog, with a mechanical shutter, match-needle metering, and access to Minolta’s excellent SR-mount Rokkor lens lineup.

Paired with the MC Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.7, this is a great everyday film kit. The 50mm focal length works for everything from portraits and street photography to travel and general walkaround shooting, while the f/1.7 maximum aperture gives you plenty of room for lower-light shooting and shallow depth of field. Rokkor glass has also developed a well-earned following among digital shooters adapting vintage lenses for its classic rendering and excellent mechanical feel.

This particular camera has some honest signs of a previous life, including a name etched into the body. It’s definitely a user rather than a shelf queen, but the important stuff checks out.
