The Graflex Crown Graphic is the quintessential American press camera—a workhorse of mid-century journalism and large format field photography. Beloved for its portability, rugged build, and simple functionality, it’s a go-to for anyone looking to shoot 4x5 with minimal setup. Unlike its heavier brother the Speed Graphic, the Crown Graphic omits the focal plane shutter in favor of a lighter build and easier lens mounting.

This particular unit is paired with a Schneider Kreuznach Xenar 135mm f/4.5, a classic Tessar-type lens known for sharpness, contrast, and that vintage large-format look. The shutter is in excellent working order, with all speeds firing correctly—although the slower speeds test about a stop slow (1/10 is likely firing closer to 1/5, for example). Importantly, none of the slow speeds stick, and this camera is absolutely ready to go out and make images.

This is hands-down the cleanest Graflex Crown Graphic we've ever sold. Bellows are supple and fully light-tight. Rangefinder is clean and responsive. Lens glass is clear and coatings are intact. Very minor signs of handling, but overall this is museum-worthy in terms of cosmetics and fully functional in the field.
