Fujifilm NPZ 800 220 C41 Color Negative Film - Exp 06-2004

The Fujifilm NPZ 800 in 220 format is a rare and highly interesting professional high-speed color negative film from Fuji’s earlier pro lineup. Designed for low-light and portrait work, NPZ 800 became known for its smooth grain structure for an 800-speed film, soft Fuji color palette, and excellent skin tone rendering.

Compared to Kodak high-speed portrait films from the same era, NPZ 800 tends to lean:

• Slightly cooler in tone
• Softer and more pastel overall
• Smooth in mixed lighting
• Very flattering for portraits and event photography

Because this is 220 format, it’s even more unusual today. 220 gave medium format shooters roughly double the exposures of 120 film without changing rolls, making it especially popular for weddings, fashion, and editorial work before the format largely disappeared.

Expired Fuji high-speed films from this era can produce incredibly atmospheric results with softened contrast, subtle color shifts, and a very distinct early-2000s professional film look.
