COASTAL PREMIUM C41
Our high resolution color managed service. The goal with our premium scans is for you to spend as little additional time in front of the computer as possible. These should be close perfect straight out of the box if everything goes right on the capture end.
COASTAL STANDARD C41
The standard. Nothing "basic" about it. Neutral, true to negative scans. Color + contrast correction done in scanner according to your preference. Depending on shooting conditions and desired look, files may benefit from post work finishing.
COASTAL PREMIUM B&W
Our high resolution contrast managed black and white service. This comes with manual dust spotting and curves layer adjustments to get contrast optimized for as close to out of the box readiness as possible.
COASTAL STANDARD B&W
The standard. Nothing "basic" about it. Neutral, true to negative scans. Contrast and Density correction done in scanner according to your preference. May need minor curves tweaks and dust spotting (Digital ICE dust correction doesn't work on B&W).

ABOUT OUR SERVICES/EQUIPMENT
We are obsessed with quality and tones – all the tones. To get the very best, we start with Ilford chemistry for black and white, and Kodak Flexicolor chemistry for C41. We currently have three processing machines, a Noritsu V30 Roller Transport machine, a Copal Roller transport black and white machine, and Jobo Autolab Rotary processor for E6 & ECN-2 Cine.
For scanning we scan on a variety of film scanners
Kodak Pakon F135+ which is an amazing workhorse unit that puts out accurate and dust free scans from 35mm roll film in basically any condition. We use this scanner for many expired rolls.
Kinostill Reproduction Scanner - Our in house built reproduction scanner for when resolution is paramount. This option does not have dust correction and gives very flat scans of negative and positives that preserve every bit of detail.
Fujifilm Frontier SP3000 Scanner, which is a legendary unit sought after by film photographers across the globe. It has a signature color palette and rendering that really stands out among film scanning units.
Noritsu HS1800 - A bit more sophisticated roll film scanner that allows for higher resolution, more adjustability in scanner, and more dynamic range than the frontier, all while providing a slightly more neutral look.
